The Laguna Chapter of NCL, Inc., proudly introduces its
2018 New Member & Debutante Announcement
Luncheon & Fashion Show
National Charity League, Inc. is a non-profit organization of approximately 65,000 mothers and daughters in 244 chapters, nationwide, who join together as volunteers in support of a variety of philanthropy organizations within their local communities. Its mission is built upon a foundation creating awareness of and empathy for those who are most in need, while nurturing the mother-daughter bond.
The Laguna Chapter of NCL, Inc., was founded in 1984 by a group of 85 mothers and their 99 daughters. With a commitment to leadership development, cultural experiences, and hands-on service to its community, Laguna Chapter, today, has grown to 300 active members, supporting over 20 philanthropies in the Orange County area. Annually, our moms and daughters contribute more than 11,000 volunteer service hours directly to our philanthropies.
The Annual New Member and Debutante Announcement Luncheon & Fashion Show is an annual event that celebrates many facets of the NCL experience by bringing its entire membership and their guests together for an afternoon of fun, fashion, and fundraising in support of its philanthropy partners. The day begins with the highly anticipated Silent Auction and Opportunity Drawing, supported by our Ways and Means Committee and Active Members. Funds raised help to support mission-based Chapter programming efforts, as well as, academic scholarship grants and philanthropy financial assistance grants to a number of partnering philanthropies. In 2016, more than $43,000 was dedicated toward these important programs.
Special traditions include the formal introduction of its newest members with a walk down the runway and the screening premiere of the Chapter’s annual video summarizing its collective achievements during the year. Senior Ticktockers are honored with the announcement of their intent to become a Debutante, and a special moment is celebrated with their moms as they share their heartfelt mother-daughter tributes to one another. The afternoon culminates with all graduating Ticktockers participating as models in an energizing and professional runway fashion show featuring current trends from our retail partner, Bloomingdales South Coast Plaza.
